The Colt-Pielstick PC4 series diesel and dual fuel engine is introduced for industrial power and marine applications.

• The PC4 was initially rated at 1479 H.P. per cylinder at 400 rpm. Later the design was improved to 1629 H.P. per cylinder at 400 rpm.
• A total of 30 10 cylinder PC4.2/2 main propulsion engines have been sold to the U.S. Navy for use on T-AO refueling tankers.

The massive PC4.2 support plate is plasma arc welded.	The engine room of USNS Walter S. Diehl (T-AO 193).

	Spark Gas Turbo Blower O.P. reduces nitrous oxide emissions. An eight cylinder O.P. developing a total of 2200 H.P. to run a 1965 KW generator. The market need for cleaner burning engines led to this improved engine.
